The Voice in Your Head is a Liar

The voice telling you that you cannot do something is always lying. Here are 4 tips to get you motivated, proving that the voice in your head IS a liar…

1. Go for Five – Start working for five minutes. Often that little push will be enough to get you going. See everything as a 5 minute grab. Tell yourself that whatever you do will only take 5 minutes.

2. Move Around – Get your body to do what your mind is fighting. Move it!

3. Plan Your Day – Yeah I know- you’ve heard this before- but it DOES work. Plan out tomorrow.

4. Get up early and place all the important things early in the morning. Building momentum early in the day can usually carry you forward far later.

Make that voice in your head a liar. Don’t think Stop trying to analyse “why” things are not happening… always ask “What do I do next”… stop thinking so much and just do it… move, in 5 minute grabs, early start.

How To Get More Excited About Your Life!

1. Follow Your Positive Energies

Always ask, “What do I want to do next?

When you ask yourself ‘what’ questions a number of options will appear. Pick the option that ‘feels’ the best and go with it. Your energies will rise. Even if you make a ‘mistake’ ask the ‘what’ question again and keep following your intuition- you WILL get it right and your energies WILL rise.

2. Stop asking ‘why’ questions- they have no answers.

Stick with the ‘what’ questions.

In fact, after you ask yourself a ‘why’ question, followit immediately with a ‘what’ question.

Example: “Why doesn’t my hair look good today?”

Turn this into a ‘what’ question- immediately.

“What do I want my hair to look like?”

Options will appear… then ask,

“What do I need to do make make myb hair look like that?”

Again options will appear- hairdresser, change colour, brush differently etc. Select the option that raises your energies- that makes you most excited about yourself.

THEN DO IT!

3. Stop the Drama

Stop imaging worst case scenarios. Stop focussing on the possibilities of every problem- this just accelerates negative energies.

Keep asking the “What” questions. Practice them.

4. Practice Joy and Optimism

Optimism can be learned. Practice:

-Appreciate the love and beauty already in your life.
-Always keep your word to yourself.
-Value your own efforts.
-Instead of focusing on problems, envision solutions.
-Practice self-supportive thoughts.
-Lighten up and don't take yourself so seriously.
-Schedule time every day for relaxation.
-Learn to breathe consciously and deeply.

Excitement is something we choose. It’s something we set forth as a possibility, and then look for ways to making it happen. This is your life. Is today the day you purposefully get excited about exploring, discovering, and creating?

Keep asking "What" questions and you will see and feel the difference in your life.

DALAI LAMA - 12 Of His Best Quotes

Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.

Old friends pass away, new friends appear. It is just like the days. An old day passes, a new day arrives. The important thing is to make it meaningful: a meaningful friend - or a meaningful day.

Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.

If you can, help others; if you cannot do that, at least do not harm them.

If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.

Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive.

My religion is very simple. My religion is kindness.

Sleep is the best meditation.

The purpose of our lives is to be happy.

There is no need for temples, no need for complicated philosophies. My brain and my heart are my temples; my philosophy is kindness.

We can live without religion and meditation, but we cannot survive without human affection.

We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves.

Dreaming Is A Gift

During your dream state, you leave this realm of existence and connect to the realm of Spirit. Dreaming is therefore a gift- one you can learn from in order to be guided in your day to day life.

Dreaming is a connection between you and your Spirit Guide. And nightmares are URGENT messages sent to you. There is no evil here. Only guidance.

So dreams are the method by which the realm of Spirit communicates to the soul- to you. If you listen to the message being conveyed perhaps some knowledge of ones course in life, problems and solutions, will be gleamed.

Don't agree with everyone!

Always being agreeable to please others is a habit many people need to break.

Know your own ideas and be true to them.

Don't agree with others just for the sake of it.

Likewise, don't argue just for the sake of it; in fact you don't have to argue at all. The point is not to go out of your way to show people that you agree with them when you either disagree or are neutral.

Be your true self – be true to yourself.

You could say something like, "I can see you point of view, but I haven't quite made up my mind yet."

What you say is really not as important as how you feel as you're saying it. Be confident – assertive yet not arrogant.

It's not your job to boost everyone else's ego!

5 Tips for a Happier Drive to Work- or anywhere!

You gotta hate traffic.
Here are 5 tips for a stress free drive to work- these tips can also be modified to apply to public transport:

1. Don’t rush. Leave a little early than usual and feel more relaxed. Relax your body as you take off. Remember that great holiday you had a while ago. Bring that feeling into your mind and see the day as an adventure. Maybe listen to music that raises your energies. Don’t rush.

3. Breathe. Here is a great exercise. Breathe in to the count of 2 and out to the count of 4. Do this for a few minutes. Don’t worry you won’t run out of breath. Breathing out longer than breathing in has the effect of calming your heart. Breathe and relax.

4. Sit up straight. Like breathing, being conscious of good posture helps to eliminate negative thoughts. Sit back - your shoulders should be to the back of the seat, straight and your hips a bit higher than your knees. Feel the body relax.

5. Take alternate routes. See the drive as an adventure. Take alternative routes even if they take longer to get you to work- leave earlier.

See your drive to work as an adventure and a great time to think.

Solve All Relationship Problems in 5 Easy Steps

Here is a short and powerful guide to solving all arguments, issues, strains in any type of relationship:

Preliminaries:

1. In your mind, be prepared to solve the issue  (commit to NOT yelling or being abusive in any way).

2. In your mind, identify the real issue you guys are arguing about.

Step  #1: Never keep a running tally of "wins" and "losses" in your relationship- at least never voice it (this is one of the biggest mistakes that couples make).

Step #2: Watch your language.

Here are a few examples of language choices that will get you nowhere fast:
-- Using the words always and never. Saying something like, "You never help out around here!" will stop any reasonable discussion dead in its tracks…  it would be better to start off by saying, "I'd like to talk to you about your share of the workload.
-- Insults and name-calling. Don’t do it!!!
-- Do not use threats (don’t say, “or else!")

Step  #3: Focus on one issue at a time. Do not swerve from issue to issue- this way none will be resolved.

Step  #4: Pick the right setting- time and place. Out the house in a public place works well- coffee shop, park, walk through a shopping centre.

Step  #5: Say "I'm sorry" as often as possible. Short, sweet and it works. BUT make sure you mean it.

3 Easy Ways to Truly Love Yourself

There is an old adage- you must learn to love yourself before you love others. I have modified this- you must first love yourself before you can truly live your life to the fullest.
How can you learn to love yourself?

1.   Understand what loving yourself means
Loving yourself is about understand who you are and cherishing that person… NO MATTER WHAT others think of you or criticisms you may have of yourself. Nurture yourself (your interests, image, passions, friends and networks), and look after your needs.
Be true to YOUR word and open and honest with yourself- and of course others.

2.   Adopt loving self-talk
Loving yourself first requires talking to oneself in loving ways… Practice filling your mind with beautiful words about yourself that you would love others to say to you. Even say I love you to yourself… Start calling yourself “Beautiful” and “Brainy” instead of “idiot”, “stupid”, or “hopeless”.
Practice positive self talk- every time you catch yourself speaking negatively about yourself internally… follow it IMMEDIATELY with something positive.
Focus on how you treat yourself.

3.   Understand why you are here…
So create something… something special… become an expert in ANYTHING (writing poetry, photography, singing, painting… ANYTHING).
Then squeeze out as much “me-time” as possible with your creative passions.
Love what you DO...  and DO it often.
You WILL love yourself more.
Practice.

How to LAUGH… and why you should.

Laughter truly IS the best medicine.

The Benefits of Laughter

Simple:

  • Laughter provides both a physical and emotional release.
  • Laughter can be a good workout for your abs, diaphragm, and shoulders.
  • Laughter leaves you feeling more relaxed.
  • Laughter brings the focus away from negative emotions.

The 8 Step Secret to Living a Happy Life: IT’S EASY

Although “happiness“ is different for everyone, there is a common theme amongst people who have achieved happiness.

Here they are:

1. Remember how to play.

Remember a time before you ‘grew up’ – a time when everything was natural and innocent. Re-create that feeling in your mind and become playful again.

2. Be aware of every ‘youthful moment’ you live now.

Enjoy whatever you do in a youthful, joyous way.

3. Be a doer not a thinker.

Nike had it right- ‘JUST DO IT!’

Life is a verb. Move!

4. Finding your passions.

… then DO them!

In fact it does not matter what you do as long as you DO something. Become an expert in SOMETHING.

Then pursue with vigor whatever you do.

5. Flow with your strengths.

“Flow” means enjoy the excitement of being absorbed in your interests- in whatever you choose to DO.

Flow = Sustained Movement. Get it?

THIS movement will become your strength. Your interest and your ultimate expertise will become your strength. Get it?

Persevere!

6. Be kind and grateful.

Say ‘thank you’ to people, circumstances and yourself. Be grateful for the lessons you are learning and the lessons you have learnt.

Likewise be kind you yourself and to others. Kindness and gratitude will raise your energies.

7. Put on a happy face.

Even if you have to “fake it till you make it.”

Whatever it takes to raise your energies. Give birth to happiness.

8. Rest

Relax. Take time to think… and NOT to think.

Enjoy doing nothing. Give yourself a break at a regular basis.

You WILL be happy.
